WD 40 vs gaskets

I'd use it but not let it sit on the chain for long.. Besides I don't clean every ride, I lube ever 500 miles or so, but only clean when it looks grungy. Might not be perfect, but a 530 chain is fairly hefty and takes time to wear.

I clean the chain with WD40 on a rag (and some rubber gloves, it's a messy job) once or twice a year, or when the chain looks really manky/gritty.
Cheers,
Paul.

Already discussed - about 2 months back. https://www.superhawkforum.com/forum...ght=chain+lube
read the entry by Crawdaddy. WD40 seems to do the trick for him and it has so far worked for me. I spray the chain and wipe it "dry" with a rag every other fillup. Can't quite work up enough spit...

I don't use chain wax, as I find it too gloopy, I use Silkolene lube, which is thin and not too tacky.
Cheers,
Paul.

Bel Ray has this stuff my buddy sprayed on my chain last week at their shop, and its pretty awesome.
I dont know exactly what its called but its fairly new.
It sprays on real thin and runs easy, but within a few seconds it like dries and turns blue/white. Looks almost like paint when its on.
You can sure tell the spots you missed thats for sure.
I will find me a can this week and report back.
