Twin Max

I am looking into a carb syncronizer. Can you use the Twin Max sync a 4 cyl bike? I don't want to buy something I can only use on twins.

Make your own using oil. It's more stable, cheap and if you suck oil into the cylinder it won't wreck your bike. I'm sure there are pictures of one here. I use my friends and it works great.

Yeah, buy for the future and get a multi setup. You can tune a 4 with a twin setup but it's a major PITA.

Is there a way to check if the slide diaphragm is sealed after you take it apart and !$%&! with the spring trying to get it in place?

I think what he's saying here is one tube per cylinder and expect to pay a hundred or so. You never know when there is a VFR in your future. Hehehehe until I'm there. God help me if I ever have to tear this bike down but if I do I won't be taking it to the wanna's at Honda. Four tubes - four cylinders and when they all work together it is soooo sweet.

Anyone know where I can find pictures or directions for this. Has anyone used the Motion Pro Delux or Econo mercury sticks? Is the Econo ok or should I the extra dough for the delux? I found the Econo for 48.40 and the Delux for 80.46 at cycledepot.net.

What about the vacuum guage type carb balancers? Are they accurate or do the needles bounce too much?

Yeah, the guages bounce a lot. The mercury sticks are no longer available IIRC. Something to do with mercury being hazardous or something. I think they're lieing.

Anyway, if you can still get it then go for the better one. I've had both, the cheap one for about 2 years and it broke. I've had the good one for about 5 or 6 now and it's doing just fine. Since it's not used that often, place the brass fittings in a plastic baggie and tape it to the side of the sticks. This will prevent them from corroding.

The Twinmax can be used for a 4-cyl but you have to switch the line for every cylinder and leave the reference line hooked up. It's not that difficult - maybe 10 minutes extra time.
