Rear cylinder, right? Search around the site and find the .pdf. It tells you how to adjust timing in the same section that you do valve clearances...

thetophatflash is an unknown quantity at this point
As far as I know, timing is only adjustable by replacing the advancer. I've got the FP 4 degree advance.

Do you have the valve covers off?

The last pageis a recent discussion related to setting the timing. If you're at TDC, you won't have half of these issues, but it's a start.

that is confusing me. i have the FE and FI lined up with the flanges on the outside of the cams at the FT timing mark. every 2 rotations they are lined up again, correct timing? what next?

Line up the front cylinder. Rotate the crank 3\4 of a turn (or 270 degrees) counterclockwise and line up the RT mark. Then set the rear cams.

Hey 8541Hawk, so line up the rear cams just as the front cams? with the FI and FE parallel to the head at opposite ends? (basically all valves closed)

On the rear cylinder you would use the RI & RE marks on the cam sprockets

The cam lobes will be pointing the opposite direction than the front but other than that it is the same as the front. Line the marks up so they are parallel to the head and you are good.

Don't forget to line up the RT also. Watch the cam lobes to ensure you are properly aligned with RT before you reset the timing, I forget when it is aligned but I beleive when you are directly between the two letters, if I am wrong someone correct me.
