Sub air filter

Sub air filter

So, my sub air filter's have a block off plate on them. I searched the forum, and also looked at a parts diagram for the airfilter housing and was unable to find it in the parts. I run a K&N filter. Is this part of that? Should I take them out?

Edit: Never mind. I just found a picture of the K&N setup, and it shows them. Anyone know what they do?

They filter the air going to the slides so they can move up & down. Leave them out and you suck dirt right into the carb diaphragm and slide area.

The filters are in there. What I am talking about is the plate that seperates the air filter box from the sub air filter. Here is a picture. It's the two triangle looking things on the left. On a stock air filter, there is none. On a K&N, there is.
