She won't start! Help please!
Hey guys. Bit of a problem with the 'hawk. Went to the gas station to fill the tires up the other day and when i went to fire it back up, no dice. The battery is fully charged and all the lights and everything work just fine. When i hit the start switch, i hear this buzzing noise coming from the shifter side right under the seat cowl. Looked at a diagram to see what it could be and the part there is the "starter magnet" as honda labels it. You think this could be the issue? Any suggestions would be fantastic. Thanks in advance.

Check battery connections and try boosting the bike with a car, if it starts, take a multimeter and read the voltage at idle and 4000 RPM, it should be between 13.5 and 15 V.
If not R/R more likely, but could also be the stator, if ok the battery may be bad, charge it fully overnight and measure the cranking voltage, mine cranks around 10V.

That noise sounds like the "starter switch" (what honda calls the solenoid ) located right where he says on the left side seat cowl.
Pull the red plug ( it has retainer snaps ) and check the main-fuse socket and the 4 prongs in the plug for corrosion.
If no corrosion. then take a screw driver and short out the two nuts on top.
Make sure the bikes in neutral before doing this as the bike will lurch forward if in gear.
If the starter spins properly when shorting between the 2 nuts on top of the solenoid
then the solenoid needs replacement.

This was it. Thanks. Part came in today, swapped it out, now I can finally ride!
