Possible Transmission Problem?

Hello All,
So I picked up a 98 SH a few months ago with ~55k miles and no issues until recently. The problem is that when I take off in first gear and I get to about 2500 there is some knocking noise like 2 or 3 bangs and goes away when I pull the clutch in. Its almost like the tranny is struggling or possibly the chain slipping. It sounds and feels pretty bad, but it only does it once in the morning when I take off for school and wont do it the rest of the day.

On a possibly related note, sometimes when taking off from a stop, i go to let out the clutch and the bike will jump like the clutch grabbed super hard even though i hadnt released it all the way. This has only happened 2-3 times in the past 2 months so not sure what to make of it.

The bike is stock and only maintenance done so far is changing the oil. Other than those two issues, no problems at all.

I'm thinking it might be a transmission or possibly clutch issue. Has anyone else had this or a similar problem and could this be CCT related? Not sure how to approach this issue, so any feedback is greatly appreciated

Thanks, that seems to be exactly the same problem. I could have sworn that it was a tranny problem.
