Yes, but can you cook with it after draining it from the bike? I mean, I am looking for a multi-purpose oil...Rich with Omega 3's would be nice, but I can compromise if the price is right...the more sheering the better, it taste better in the pan...

Mobil Synthetic 15-50

I'm gonna give the standard automotive Mobil synthetic 15-50 a try this time around in a couple weeks. I'd been using the Honda GN4. But it is only a couple dollars more for the synth'.
I'm overdue for a valve lash check to...
Last year I inherited my dad's welding kit and have thought about making a front stand/lift so I could get the forks off and do an oil change. Gonna have to get the front wheel off anyway within a couple thousand miles as she is about ready for another Diablo Strada to match the newly mounted rear.
Finally, I really need to get off my butt and make that laser chain alignment tool I said I was going to make for myself before I installed the RK' last year.

No...not again!!!

Anyway, yeah I'm dusting the bike off tomorrow. It's about time. It finally rained enough here to clean up most of the salt and sand and it's going to be a balmy 53 degrees they say.

I probably should change the oil too. I'm going to use what ever I grab first at the cycle shop. Any name brand fresh oil is better than what's been sitting in there all winter. There's that's my input.

Kickin, you must be bored starting another oil thread

But I'll bite! I run M1 15W-50 in everything from my lawn mower to my wifie's BMW and man it really smooths out my Superchicken.

Trying out 0w, heard you get more horsepower the thinnner the oil. Thinking about buying a case of Remoil, cause its lighter then 0w. Then again maybe I'll try ATF. Haven't decided yet, but if I can pick up 1.2 hp, man, that'll be worth it. Then i'll empty the fork oil out of the beast. Drop at least a pound there. Buy new high mileage tires, have them shaved down to 2/32" to save weight...

Bill, don't forget to take your kickstand off to save weight and just lay your bike on it's frame slider when you park it like the kids do these days

THe major OIL companies want to you to think that you have to change your oil... It improves their bottom line.. duh!?!

Then there's the CAR COMPANIES... They're in co-hoots with the OIL companies.. they know that if you use the same oil from day one (that super oil THEY get for breaking in a new engine) that the engine will last forever, continuing the get better and better gas mileage.

In the UK they change their oil every 5-8K miles. Oil is engineered to run longer than 3K miles. So in the car I run her to 4.5K miles before an oil change.

The bike is a different matter.

On a serious note, you can't beat Rotella for the price, and you can get it at Wal-Mart or Sams club cheap...

I am getting ready to switch over to full synth at 1000 miles...only have 880 right now...LOL...I have already changed the oil 3 times...4th will be at 1000....Crazy man, crazy...

Better yet Honda engineers designed their motors so IF it does burn or drip oil, it's only the old stuff not the new oil you add.

I've always used Golden Spectro 4. Shifts really smooth, but it is a little pricy.
