Oil Consumption?
Hey guys...
Just checked my oil and noticed I was a bit low... about 1/4 or 3/8 of a quart.
Bike is new. Had about 2700 miles on this oil change. Plenty of "spirited" post-break in riding during that time.
Is the general consensus that this much oil consumption is normal for a Hawk?
My other bikes didn't really eat much oil... not sure if this is just Hawk "character"
Thanks!!

Hi
First time checking out this forum - happy to meet y'all. I'm looking into oil consumption too, so I'm glad to see this thread. I've been going through oil surprisingly fast, like a quart every 1500 miles. Unfortunately I had to rebuild the top ends last summer due to a bad CCT installation. I'm wondering if the oil consumption is due to the rebuild or if it's common. From what I see here, some go through oil a lot and some don't. Can Honda build quality vary that much?
Does anyone have suggestions for checking oil leakage at the valve guides? I replaced the seals but not the guides when I put new valves in.
Thanks for the help.

Don't intend to start the age-old oil debate, but I usually use Mobil-1 15w-50 without friction modifiers... couldn't get any this past weekend, so I ended up buying Mobil-1 20w-50 motorcycle specific oil... we'll see in a month or so if there's any diff...
