Check the obvious stuff, make sure it is not in gear, make sure the kill switch is not on, check for gas, then check for spark try jumping with a car battery.

been doing that all afternoon, didnt check 4 spark because every once in awhile it would try to start then right back to just turning over, the r/r is finned so im guessing its been replaced was running just fine after a lil bit of tryin to get it started, but today it was mid 50's so it wasnt to cold for it even had it out in sunshine
tried draining carbs and using starting fluid, but to no avail! frustration setting in

Did you put the vacuum line back onto the petcock in the correct place?
If not it wont open and allow fuel into the carbs.

all lines are on the petcock, seems to be getting fuel, drained the carbs again just to make sure, it really tries just about the time youre ready to stop pushing the button, the just goes back to turning over, every once in awhile ill get a backfire but thats about it. Im about at the end of my rope here, how would i check the r/r if i dont have an ohm meter? would there be anything else im not trying? I know that it will be the last thing i check, lol, but im running out of ideas, thanks guys, im about to go nuts, got some awesome weather goin on and im missing out on it

Where on the petcock? the vacuum line goes on the back - right, not on the bottom.

(it looks like it should go on the bottom, but that is the vent, the correct place is hidden)

I bet you flooded it out.How hot did you let it get?It takes mine several miles to get everything up to temp.Sounds like was getting harder and harder to start.Get yourself a fresh set of plugs and while the old ones are out check for spark or even before you take the old ones out.Your much better off putting some Sta-Bil in the tank and putting her to bed than letting her take short naps.
