New to Superhawk, New to Forum, few questions.
Hi guys, I am new to the Superhawk world and I already love it. I just sold my 95 zx7 because I cracked the crankcase, sold that and a bunch of other things to get enough for a Superhawk. I instantly bought a smoked db windscreen on Ebay and am watching a manual but until I get one I could use some help. I tried to search for these answers but am having issues with the search. My bike is an 02, paid $3000 (not sure if thats a great deal or not) 10,000 miles, stock as far as I know except the Microns. The bike is running very rough especially at low speeds, alot of sputtering and sometimes lets out a backfire when starting. Plugs have a dry black look to them, I'll replace those but otherwise not sure what else to start with? Should the main headlight have high and low beam? What is the smaller light for? Can I set the clock so it doesnt read in military time? Thanks for any help I get.

Here is the link to your service manual...why pay when it's free?
Service Manual - SuperHawk Forum
There should be a high beam and low beam (left control above the horn).
The small light above the headlight is a marker light.
I don't know about the clock..I have a 98 without a clock.
BTW, it looks like your front wheel has been changed to a CBR wheel...also the back wheel has been changed to an older models to match the black color. Your wheels would have been gold from the factory and had 3 spokes like your back one does.

I had a 94 ZX7, green and white (I had the exact same Muzzy exhuast). I put more miles on that bike than any other I've ever owned. I quit riding for a couple of years after I got a call from my wife while out riding that my son had a fever of 103. I was about 100 miles from home when she called and I got home just over an hour later. I felt horrible and I didn't ride the bike for another year. I took it around the block after I sold it to my stepdad, right before he loaded it onto his truck to take it to California with him.
The "no motorcycle" thing lasted just less than a year, when I bought my Hawk three years ago.
I miss the ZX though and I have to fight the urge to buy it back everytime we go visit and I see it sitting untouched in his garage.

Yea, I really loved my ZX and I do miss it. I got compliments on that bike all the time. It did have over 44,000 miles on it and was starting to get a little tired. It was only a matter of time before it would need work. I guess cracking the motor was a blessing in disguise because I wouldn't have replaced it with my Hawk otherwise.

i bought my '04 about a year ago with 8400 miles. had been sitting for quite a while and ran rough until i rebuilt the carbs. made a world of difference.
as far as i know the clock is military time only. did not get a manual with the bike.
