Need a measurement, ASAP if possible
In the middle of doing my fork swap. Missed place the sheet with a measurement for the front forks.
Need to know the length in MM or IN from the center of the front axle to the bottom of the steering stem.
Thanks.
Erik

Mike, it did help.
Took the measurement the way we discussed. Looks like I'm around 496-497mm. Very acceptable. I may still take the shim out at first, then add it later. Also slowed down for a second and realized that the upper triple isn't torqued down yet, so there may be that 3mm to be had yet.
Thanks for the call, I appreciated it.

Front wheel off (i think would be better, correct me if I am thinking wrong), from axle centerline to bottom of steering head.
Just want to be sure of the measurements, not merely close.

mine is in the garage. I have a very old measurement, from before I did my swap, written down of 26.5 inches from axle (center) to top of frame at the stem. That would have been taken with the front end unweighted and with the front wheel on the bike. I know you were asking for bottom of stem but this is top.
Remember too that the stock measurement unweighted is one thing as a starting reference, but the stock springs were quite soft and there was a lot of sag, so where you end up once unweighted might be quite different if you have a different front end now with stiffer springs and less sag. It will obviously take some riding and testing and playing with where you have the forks.
Mine is set up pretty good with about 25mm sag and an RC51 front end on it now. I don't know what you are putting on but might be just as useful to ask for some well set up measurement from those with the same fork setup as you have now.
