Im perplexed with carb issue

Skoshere was this problem resolved? I did a search, have similar symptoms and want to know what fixed your bike. Did you fix your bike?
I switched back to a stock filter, bike ran great for two weeks, now this week will barely run, idle, or rev. I did find my vacuum port cap had come off the front cylinder, but replacing it did nothing. My petcock diaphram will hold vacuum, if I suck on the vacuum line, so it couldn't be bad, can it?
I ran seafoam in the previous tank, but had normal premium in this one when it went bad. Now have several oz. of Seafoam after running bad but didn't make a difference. If something is plugged, it is plugged. I never had a carb plug that only sat a week and ran perfect before.
I would say it could be electrical, but I shouldn't get fits of sputter followed by spurts of power if I try to ride it. I would say it had one cylinder misfiring.
Don't want to tear into the carbs until I have ruled other things out, I'll try the TPS next, then spark at both plugs, check grounds. Any other suggestions?

I'm not sure if sucking on the vacuum line will tell you that the diaphragm is good or bad.
I removed my petcock from the tank, then opened it up only to find a tear in the diaphragm.
I had similar symptoms, and that was the culprit in my case.

a searchable term. Petcock Vacuum Line Inadvertent Relocation. If your a tinkerer and haven't done it, you will. Checking for it with sudden problems after having the tank up is like checking to see if the key is in when the bike won't start.

it was a jetting issue... I would pin it to the change in temperature... I ended up with a # 48 pilot , stock mains, .060 shim under both needles.
it runs well in all temperature/humidity now.

Skoshere,
Glad you got yours fixed, thanks for the reply.
I am checking everything again, first chance I get. I am thinking of checking CCTs also. Since it runs so poorly regardless of rpm, maybe I am a few teeth off. It ran perfect, last time I rode, so whatever happened was something breaking or failing at start up. No interference noises though.
Vacuum hose is definitely in the right place on the petcock, I'll check the diaphram when the gas tank is off when I check the valve timing.
Never fails, just bought $400 worth of nice leather gear and have yet to have the wind on it .
I hope I shouldn't have spent that money elsewhere like on some APE's. That was my next big ticket item on my to do list. My motor has less than 10K miles on it, but you never know.
