ignition cylinder
Has anyone had their ignition cylinder go out on them? I tried to start
my bike today and the key won't turn. It works on the gas tank and the
seat, but it won't turn the ignition cylinder. It's worked just fine, I haven't
had a hint of a problem with it. Has anyone had this problem? I going to take
it to the dealer, because it's still under warrenty but I want to know is this
somthing that will have to be replaced and I'll get a new key, or can they just rekey the same cylinder? to the dealer!!!

I have this problem with my beater Toyota when it's cold. It seems to get frozen. I use a hair dryer to heat the cylinder and then it seems to work. Some WD40 might help also. The right thing to use for lock cylinders is powdered graphite.

I just got my bike back from the dealer, They replaced the lock cylinder in
the ignition, tank, and seat. All under warranty. They also did my
12k maintance as well. When I bought it I got a 2 year warranty along
with a 3 year maintance program, So I don't pay anything for 3 years. That
gives me enough time to fiddle with my other bikes.
