how to check the front end damage?
hi,
I need your advice here to verify the damage from my lite crash.
My friend and I were riding mountain( OH-555) and I was having too much fun. got on the gravel on up hill then down to left. tried to save, but could not... Damage is very minimum, took left side blinker off, bent shift lever,
Scratch on pipe, and scratch on plastic and tank...
Damage was minimum because slide bike on lawn.
when put bike up, front wheel was off and twisted handle bar and fixed it.
fairing is little off left hand side is bend down.
bike runs at 100mph with very minimum vibration, but hands off gets little shaky and not so stable.
If you guys have any order to check the damage, please let me know.
I assume the speed at drop the bike was already slow down by full breaking and front tire lost on grass. so speed is not high enough to damage the triple tree nor front fork.
I appreciate your advice.
Thanks

My SHawk was a wreck when I bought it. Needed forks and lots of tweaking to fairing stays and subframe. Forks can be quite misaligned even if straight. Tightening order of pinch bolts on triple is important. After a lot of repair I found I had one bent rotor. Wasn't noticeable pushing the thing around even, just once I had other new parts on the front. Since you can ride it you have the advantage of checking stuff out at speed. Just go real easy at first (100-200 mph!). There has to be a thread or two on fork and triple installation and alignment, but stanchions and dial indicator sound like a damn good idea. Maybe check wheel balance, you never know what might have happened in a crash. When you actually ride it comes down to "seat of the pants (or skirt)" though! If it feels shaky, might as well BE shaky.
