Head shake

Happened the other day. Not real severe, but enough to cause me concern. There has been a couple of other occurrences, but this one was much more pronounced. Sweeper, accelerating in 3rd gear through about 7K or so. I have been trying to use my knees and core for support to keep weight off the bars, but I'm not that consistent with this and could very well have been gripping the bars too hard. Seems as though I relaxed a bit and the the shake stopped.
The question is should I be looking at the head bearings, rear ride height or just improve my riding skills?

Check the head bearings and make sure the front tyre is not coved.

But mine will shake under power if Im harsh on an upshift and get in the throttle hard. relaxing solves this.

Check head bearings like spokes said but also check tire wear. I had a stock tire that looked mint and had rubber but caused awful front end stability. Like a squid I ran out and put a steering damper on.

When I finally put new tapered roller head bearings it only slightly helped. A new tire and the bike was a rock.

Unless you are racing Miller you really shouldn't need a damper on this bike. It is just super sensitive to badly worn tires.

I can power shift into 2nd at decent lean & full throttle lofting the front and no headshake at all.

Oh and if you aren't using stompgrips you gotta try them. They give like 10 times the grip with your knees and hugely stabilize the bike.

I dare anyone running a damper to remove it and try the stompgrips. They make that much difference.
