Fuel Line sizes
So i was looking on the internet for what size fuel lines are on super hawks, and I found nothing, I searched around the forum, squat. I would like to order 2 fuel filters for my bike but I ride it as my daily driver so I don't want to pull it apart, order parts put it back together, then do it again once parts come in.
So can anyone help me out with this? btw my bike is a 2000 if that makes a difference

Ill do that If someone doesn't tell me first, honestly im sick of wrenching on stuff, last weekend I played with the tranny on my expedition, replaced intake manifold, every steering part on the front end, so im kinda" Wrenched" out for a while. I still have brakes to do on that, brakes on my mothers car, ball joints on my dads explorer, I have a Yamaha blaster I'm in the middle of rebuilding, A Kawasaki Lakota I bought for $50 with a seized engine (Haven't even looked at it) a 85 Honda shadow 500 im fixing and selling and finallya 87 camaro im doing some body work on (new floors/quarters)

Hey hacker, I am with you on that. I just finished swapping leaf springs on my 95 truck. They sure didnt want to move. Tough one guy, one jack job.
I just got some autoparts store purolator f21111 filters. I believe the opening size is
3/8".
Half the point of this forum is knowledge right?
These are big fuel lines for a bike but huge carbs too

I just measured the petcock fuel nipples on my spare tank and can confirm that 3/8 fuel line is correct, as Joe stated.
Inline fuel filters were a priority for me when I bought the SuperHawk. I have had bad experiences in the past with other bikes that only had the screen in tank and no real filter to protect the carbs.

A sidenote... Make sure to buy a filter that is of adequate size, and clean it regularily... I have seen more than one bike where the owner couldn't figure out why it behaved like crap... Until I removed the undersized fuelfilters from the hoses, and increased the fuel available to the carbs to normal levels...
BTW, you can quote PT Barnum or whatever you like... There is no additional fuel filter on my bike... Keeping the screen and the tank clean on a regular basis, is a much better option than a fuel filter IMHO...

THANKS! I appreciate telling me the size. Ive also had problems not running a fuel filter, So I'm going to install some (my other bike also had screens in it). I'm going to clean my carbs at the same time, i figured I might as well, it sat through the winter withoout them getting cleaned, and I like to clean them in the spring
