Factory Shift kit Removing case cover

Hey those in the know,

Putting in a Factory shift kit and cannot get the case cover off. Any tips or tricks I'm missing. Yes all bolts are out and yes I did a quick search..no dice. Thanks in advance.

Over time the gasket has "become one" (so to speak) with both the case and cover. There are pry tabs on the cover to aid in removal. Do not use too much force on those as they can break. Also, do not pry on the mating surfaces of the case and cover.

I installed the whole Factory pro kit some time ago,, and really do not remember any hidden bolts or fasteners, once you remove the water pump cover (3 of those fasteners go through the cover and into the case, so must be removed to get the cover off) and the 13 other fasteners holding the cover on.. you should be good.. There are two indexing dowel pins that can make the cover a bit of a pain to remove if it has not been off before.. look at the parts picture online http://fiche.ronayers.com/Index.cfm/...oup/WATER_PUMP
to see where they are

A few taps with a rubber or soft plastic mallet worked for me to get it loose.

Thanks all, got it off. Worked a hand made pry bar carefully under one of the tabs. Shift kit installed! Stebbdt, impact wench works wonders on the clutch basket nut if you don't already have one. Thanks again all, sure more questions to follow.
