engine noises

..... yes I did
Anyways heres what I got and I learned alot from the search but I didn't quite get a answer that I thought fitted mine. But maybe I'm just paranoid and wanted some extra comfort.
I cant pinpoint its exact location but it sounds like a half tick half poof. Somewhat like a exhaust leak but not quite. its most prominent around 2500-4000 rpm after that I either don't hear it or it goes away. does it if its idle or in gear. I have heard some valve noise is usual and so is slide slap also something about airbox noise? I have a k&n air filter. I don't think its valves so much as its not a metal on metal sound really and its only really heard in that rpm range usually when I'm around 1/4 throttle. changes slightly with rpm but doesn't sound like a match. Any help? ill try to get an audio if it helps.

Yeah, that'd be good since diagnosing sounds over the internet is a lot like choosing colors over the phone.

I still couldn't find a way to get a decent audio on here so I searched youtube till I found a bike that sounds like mine. http://youtube.com/watch?v=XBjmyJxLYmk&feature=related in the background you can hear a slight ticking noise sounds just like my bike. after hearing about 15+ hawks on their it sounds either different from the rest or he just had a better pickup on his camera. anyways thanks!

I hear a bit of ticking. Since it's at idle it's not the slides. They don't normally clack at idle. I'm thinking either CCT going bad or loose header bolts with resulting exhaust leak.
