crank case vent hose's???

the previous owner of my bike took the crank case vent hose's and connected them to each other. so each cylinder is venting into itself. it looks like the fatter of the hose's on each cylinder are supposed to go into the air box... but what about the smaller of the two.... were these originally hooked up to the pair system?

thanks for the help

Can you post any pics? Could make it easier to answer your Q.

Gerrit.

Curious setup.

To answer your question, Yes the samller hose hooks up to the pair valve.
My Chicken is missing that valve and the 2 samller diameter hoses. Also, the nipples (squeeze them) where those pair hoses attach are plugged off with vacuum blanks and sip ties.

I would hope that with your current setup the vent ports on the airbox have been sealed in some way, so as not to allow unfiltered atmosphere into the engine.

Here's a question I have. Does the presence of engine blowby gasses in the airbox cause an undesirable effect to carbureation?

Re: crank case vent hose's???

cool.. so i can just re-hook up the crank case vent hose's and then plug off the pair valve hose's.....?
and yes the other airbox hole's have been blocked off... thank god.... as for the blow-by question... i'm not sure since none of it goes into the airbox right now... but it probabley wouldn't since thats where they are supposed to go.

I can only say the same. Fat hoses go to airbox. The others block 'em.

EU models pre 99 doesn't even has these valves in the cil head.
