Changing headlight bulbs on VTR
I've seen a H4 Philips Motovision extreme bulb on www.louis.de
It's advertised that it lights up with 80% more than stock & bla bla.
I have no doubts that it's better than the stock H4 on the vtr, which is crap, especially on low beam.
Does somebody around here have this bulb installed already? any impressions?
I'm not looking at a xenon/HID kit very soon.
And i'm keen on a comparison between the h4 motovision extreme from Philips and an after market xenon/hid kit.

Don't blame the bulb for the lack of light, there is nothing wrong with that (unless its burned out)... The culprit is the wiring... No matter what bulb you put in there, with the stock wiring it will be rather dim...
Those bulbs that claim +% over "standard" only does that by using a different color on the light ie improving the part of the light that the eye uses... making it easier to see... It doesn't increase the total output in any way...
Unfortunately since both the stock bulb and the replacement bulb is getting less than the specified voltage the color of the light will be more yellow than it was designed to be...
The best way to get good light without much work or cost... Stock bulb (or whatever at stock wattage) and a relay kit (http://www.easternbeaver.com/) as you then give the bulb spec voltage... You will be surprised at the light the stock bulb can give you once the voltage is fixed...

What Tweety said!
The Easter Beaver kit is the BEST $55 I have spent on my SH to date. I have said this many times already on the forum.
I combined mine with a 85/80 Osram bulb, purchased through www.rallylights.com for $22 (I think, and it showed up in the mail 2 days later, no extra charge).
Some of the guys I ride with have the plug and play "HID"s, they're bluer and appear brighter, but mine projects much further down the road than theirs.
