Bridgestone BT54

With the weakness of our currency all new tyres are really very expensive.
New Michelin - Pirelli - Bridgestone - Dunlop at ($450.00 or R3500.00) per set.

I did find a dealer with some Bridgestone BT54 tyres at ($220.00 or R1700.00) per set. (Apparently the BT54 is a discontinued compound)

Now are these BT54's ok to use, I believe it is a very hard compound that can give up to 9000km's of use, but are they too hard to be safe?

Regards,
Gerrit

Ya I have had them for awhile too. Show no wear, it is a hard tire tho. Only thing i noticed is if your shifting from 1st into 2nd at a high rpm, the back tire will squeel out(back and forth motion). Mostly if you get into roads with the repairs done to them. (where they fix the cracks with that oily tar junk). Not sure what the stuff is exactly, you get the picture tho. Great tire if you want to save $ and get lots of km! PILOT series still the best tire for every bike IMO
