Brake Pad Assistance?

I am changing my rear brake pads and have already taken off the pads but I think I might have forgotten one crucial step. If anybody has the instructions on how to change the pads or has advice, please I am anxious to get this resolved and get riding. Thanks.

Remove old pads, clean the caliper of dust and grime. Compress the pistons back into the caliper. Install the new pads, don’t forget to remove the heat and rattle shield from the old pads and install on the new pads. Reinstall the caliper. I like to bleed the brakes after installing new pads. Fluid gets old, it absorbs moisture, once it does it will cause corrosion, as well as make the brakes spongy, and cause brake fade as the fluid can not boil at a lower temp. Others will tell you there’s no need to bleed the brakes...,,, It's your choice. Read up on the term Hydroscopic, and use it and "brake fluid" in a Google search. Then decide who s opinion to follow.
