Anybody use a bigger battery?

I need a new battery and noticed that the next size up (12v14) would give another 20 CCA and is only 5/8" taller - otherwise the same size. It looks like it would work, and I don't see any down side to it. Has anybody done it?

sounds like a good idea. battery may last longer too.
it's mounted on an angle so it needs to be a sealed type battery.
make sure the pos/neg terminals will be in the right locations,
enough lenght on the cables to reach the higher batt terminals,
will have to modifiy the battery cover,
other than that just clearance for the taller bat.
Let us know how it works.

I've had good luck with WestCo batterys sent to my house in a couple days

WestCo is who I was going to go through. It's an AGM battery so no worry about leaking. I'll let you know how it turns out.

Once when my battery died, I pulled the battery from my CBR and put it in the VTR. It was the same size length and width, but a bit taller. It worked, but the battery cover that is supposed to snap closed didnt. I dont remember how much taller it was than the hawk battery, but I remember there being not a whole lot of room in order to get that cover sealed. I ended up having to trim a bit off of the top of it. Hopefully 5/8" wont be as big a problem though.
