Aftermarket ISR clutch/brake master cylinder

Has anyone tried replacing thier Clutch's master cylinder? I want the clutch to engagement point to be adjustable, so the clutch grabs about halfway between pulled in and relased. My clutch engages when the clutch lever is almost all the way relased.

Am I looking at the right thing?
What diameter handlebars do I have?

Maybe I'm reading this wrong, but I don't that's a clutch MC. It seems to me it is a brake MC AND a clutch lever that "works with all 3.5mm clutch cables".

Yeah, that combo will not work for the superhawk.

I believe that last link from www.shopxr.com does NOT come with a master cylinder. I think the master cylinder is what I am having an issue with.

It WILL work... The VTR bars are 22 mm (7/8" = 22.22mm) It's a Clutch OR Brake radial MC...

Ie you can just as easily use it for the clutch as the brake...
The only real difference in a stock item is that they are designed for left/right side use... this is modular, so you put the mount together in a different way depending on which side it's going on....

The other item is a matching lever for a cable operated clutch, wich you won't need...

The down side might be though if you wan't matching item's is that you then need 2 of them... And that will cost you a very pretty penny...

You're sure you won't just learn to live with the quirks of having a hydraulic clutch?

Oh btw thi link gives you all the item's at shopxr... http://www.shopxr.com/showproduct.as...0976&aid=10050

The MC is still 463$ and the 204$ is the cable operated one...

Yep, your right, I just misunderstood. I agree though, real pricey for what you get.

Uhum... for 400-500$ I'd learn to live with the stock clutch's point of engagement and buy a whole lot of other fun stuff... but that's just me...

What about searching for a replacement lever that is adjustable instead of the entire assem?

Does anyone know if 929/954/RC levers are a direct swap w/ the super hawks?
I feel like finding a replacement lever would be your cheapest way to get adjustment on engagement point. Unless you're also looking for a bigger bore MC.

This might be the ghetto way, but couldn't you just file/grind a bit away on the lever where if contacts the piston for the MC.... you might need to add a very light spring in there someway to keep the lever from rattling when your off the clutch... but this seems like something that could be fixed/modded for less than 500 dollars.

No, they do not. You can, however, try to find a clutch master from another bike that has a larger bore/piston. That would work.

Just find a VFR adjustable clutch/brake lever.
That's what I'm running on my bike.
There are several on e-bay right now, cheap.

Greg, any idea what the stock clutch bore/piston size is right off the top of your head? I'm looking at a radial clutch MC too or a clutch master that is about an inch shorter so it will fit my handle bar setup better...I've taken the superbars off and replaced with 954 heli bars, which I like better...

I'm looking at a radial clutch MC right now with a 19mm piston with M10 x 1.25 banjo. Do you think it'd work okay?

Thanks,
RC

Thanks Greg, then 19 mm would be more than enough!

I just don't want to get something smaller...bigger is better
