Not hard at all.
Just unbolt the cover, take off the nut holding the sprocket tight (this nut may be very tight if you have never messed with it). Slide the sprocket off and slide the new one on and bolt everything back up.

To just install the front sprocket?
It will only take you about 15-30 minutes as long as you keep all of your bolts organized, which by the way, pretty much all the bolts on the sprocket cover are different lengths, so label them so you are not lost latter on when you can't remember what went where.

Make sure you don't have the cover off for too long. The slave cylinder will work its way out and will draw air into the clutch master cylinder. This is a major pain in the *** to resolve. Also, use the rear brake to hold the output shaft steady as you loosen the countersprocket bolt.
