ladies mesh or textile jacket

ladies mesh or textile jacket
any suggestion from the females, or from you guys with ladies that ride with you. i need to buy the wife a riding jacket with some protection but i'm not sure which one would be best. we live in florida where it's hot most of the year, and she doesn't ride a lot so i can't justify a high dollar leather jacket. any suggestion? i use a joe rocket pheonix and i like it, but i'm not sure she would like the same one.

My wife got a Fieldsheer mesh, I think it was called the Mach 1. I have the matching Mach 2, the only difference being mine has leather trim on the elbows, shoulders, and down the spine protector. If I had to do it again, I'd get the model without the leather, as it does restrict the airflow (but looks good). BTW, she's 5'02" and this was one of the only jackets that fit her. I think we paid about $119.

Re: ladies mesh or textile jacket
yeah i think my next jacket will have some leather on it. if not full leather. i am going to buy one this summer for use in the very short winter months. it just get's so hot most of the time. the wife likes to ride but rarely has time so i was thinking about a field sheer josie mesh, or a joe rocket cleo(or something comparable). i don't ride crazy and try to keep a look out for those dumb @#$$** drivers that don't pay attention when she rides with me.

Check fleabay for kids jackets. I bought my stepson a JR Phoenix to ride with me and it also fits my wife.
She's small, so the cut of the kid's jacket fits her well. Not bulky at all.

Just one more thought, make sure if you get a mesh jacket that it can take a liner or you have room for a thin sweatshirt. The same qualities that make it great at 85 make it really cold on those days the sun goes down and you haven't quite reached your destination. The trick is to not get one too big, you don't want the pads to move out of place if you go down. If all else fails, buy snug and wear a rainsuit (just to block the wind) on the outside if it turns cold.
