Armored Shirt Group Buy Feeler

I know there has been interest on the forum in armored shirts and shorts that you wear under motorcycle jackets and pants that enable removal of the armor that may or may not have come with the jackets and pants but are not the best or that can move out of place in a get off. Now armored shirts are warmer in hot weather and may not be for everyone but they definitely have major advantages over armor fitted in the outer layer.

After reviewing and trying on several armored shirts that are available, I have settled on the Velocity Gear Juggernaut II or Juggernaut Slimline. The “Slimline” should fit better under street gear and IMO has a better strap arrangement for elbow-forearm armor but is does not have the biceps straps for the shoulder armor like the Juggernaut II. I am going to call Velocity Gear and get their input when I also check on group buy pricing.

The Juggernaut II or Juggernaut Slimline are the lowest priced CE Level II shirt available I’ve found but don’t take my word, and read this review:

http://www.webbikeworld.com/r3/motor...juggernaut.htm

Here are the links for the two shirts I’m recommending:

http://www.highvelocitygear.com/prod...uggernaut.html

http://www.highvelocitygear.com/prod.../slimline.html

The neat thing about both shirts is that the back protector can be worn separately, and it seems like one of the best out there.

Let me know if you are interested in getting in on a group buy and I’ll post up when I have more info on each shirt & pricing. Given that most of us in the cold zones won’t be needing these shirts for a while, the time is now to work out the details so we have them when spring 09 rolls around.

Group Buy

Hello Superhawk Members,

I came across this post and thought I'd post some pricing details for you.

We have a pricing discount for members of online message boards, for people that are dedicated to motorcycles and understand the importance of protection as well as performace. In exchange for the discount, all we ask is that you tell a friend about our products.
Unlike many name brands, our logo doesn't sell our product, it's our products that sell our logo

Our pricing structure includes free shipping to US residents, International residents may see some additional fee's for shipping, usually $10.00 to $20.00.

Total per is $149.00 for the Slimline or Juggernaut and individual orders is fine with us, simply make sure to let us know you're a SuperHawk member...

If you have any questions please feel free to email support@highvelocitygear.com for details.

Thank You
Velocity Gear

Thanks for replying to my post. With a storm warning of 6+ inches of snow today in the Chicago area, I think my riding for the "season" is over but before next season I will post again for the SH forum members (and 3 other local forums). Hopefully the economy will improve and I look forward to buying your gear then.

A few questions though: Is the regular Juggernaut suitable under street jackets and is it available with the Slimline's elbow/forearm armor "cross" retention straps, and is the Slimline available with the Juggernaut's shoulder retention staps?

Thanks.

Worked at dealer years ago.(not in parts)
You can try things on at the dealer.
And return in-person.
Give it a shot, may even give you free coffee / hot-cocoa.
Use the right attitude and full honesty when disucussing price just like anything else, you may be surprised by their response. 95% of dealerships in 2008 will match interweb pricing if it doesn't cost them money to do so.
But, if it's corporate owned, tell those guys where to shove it and demand 27% under advertised web price and a frigging shoe shine!

Cheers.

I've checked around at local shops and for the Velocity gear, they can't do better. I'm also evaluating the Acerbis Koerta http://mx1west.com/index.asp?PageAct...ROD&ProdID=118 but is $20 more plus shipping
