So @ about 20" I easily reached 112dB reving the motor to 6000. 102dB @ 2800rpm C-weighted, 91dB @ 2800rpm A-weighted. After a little searching, almost all the info I found was A scale. So it looks like you might be ok.

Sounds like a good case for electric cutouts on the exhaust. You could pinch those down partway with the flip of a switch.
I have a single cylinder cruiser without a tach as well.
I thought my Arrow cans were pretty loud, but they're nothing compared to the Vance & Hines I just put on my g/f's Ninja 500R.
