Not attacking you here... but Go to the drag strip and try to run a 1.2. lol I bet you $100 that you can't do it. I bet you $100 you can't even hit a 1.5 60'.
Its harder than it sounds to launch a bike. do you slip the clutch, modulate the throttle, both, neither, it all depends on your bike your skill level the track the weather...If you hit a 1.7, you can say that you are doing pretty well. 1.8 is a decent time for the average rider too, 1.9 is getting slightly high, and 2.0+ means your sleeping. (no offense to anyone...its just true.)
Now put a 12" extention, drag radial tires, and a wheeliebar on the bike and then 1.2s 60' comes into play.
BTW, YES strapping the front will help out a LOT. it holds the front forks in a compressed state so that they don't extend when you apply throttle. I was able to do a 1.6s 60' on a gsxr750 with straps but could only get a 1.8 with a gsxr1000 without the straps. I've got two straps...only need one...want the other? $10

a 1.7 short time really isnt great for a bike, im pressur sure it should be in the 1.2 range with a good rider. hell a 1.7 is rwd car on a good tire times, i used to cut 2.0 in my fwd car on street tires. i guess this thing wont really ever be great at the drag strip with the way its setup. id be more than happy with mid 11's too. ill probably go towards the end of the summer and see what i can squeeze out of her ive read somewhere about strapping down the front end but havent been able to find more info on it, anyone have any insight on that?

clearly i was under the impression that a bike would come out of the hole harder based on how hard ive raped some cars from a dig on my bike still to me it seems a little slow, guess they just look faster in the videos, lol. got a picture of this strap? i wouldnt mind getting one for future use and wanna see what it is

yeah, crocs are one thing, but crocs with socks, i dunno, thats like my gf's italian dad with his sandles and work socks. lol.
i might have to invest in a strap, i bet that thing would work alot better if it had a ratchet on it. i know the front suspension on my bike has been setup to handle my weight and it doesnt compress that far.

I dunno how safe i'd feel ratcheting it down. Gotta be careful that your not applying too much pressure. With the pull straps, the way i did it, was i got my buddy to roll forward in Neutral and then hit the front brake hard as i pulled the pullstrap hard at the same time. doesnt take much to help. just 1 or two inches goes a long way.
i just ran out to the garage to take the pics tho...didnt wanna get my socks dirty...lol

haha suyre man, atleast they werent pink, lol.
i guess youd get more suspension travel with the stock setup where a fart would compress it 5 inches, lol. id still love to try a strap see how it works

New to the Hawk and V twins in general. I've dragged ZX7Rs without any problems keeping the wheel down, except for the launch. Is it really that prone to going skyward? Just wanna know what to expect.
