wow, wish I was in the market. can you believe this price? I had heard rumors of it and saw this in our local craigslist. stunning, what a time to be a motorcyclist

no stake in this, just passing the info along -I'm sure all across the country same deals

awesome bike, awesome deal, but I heard they have issues with very high oil consumption (almost two-stroke-ish, lol)

I was at my local dealership nosing around the other day, and that was the same offer they had. You don't know how close I was to trading in my hawk on a beautiful deep maroon cbr1000. My wife said I wasn't allowed. I'm still considering it. We just won't tell her

Most do not burn a significant amount of oil, but some do. Over at 1000RR.net it seems about 20% of the 08's burn oil at an excessive level. Most of the owners will tell you that the bike is so good, a little oil burning doesn't bother them too much.

A few of the bikes have been really bad though, and Honda is re-ringing those. I went on a weekend ride with a guy who owns a BMW K1300S and his bike burned about a quart in about 700 miles. And He probably paid twice as much for his burner!

I have heard this also but my 08 CBR1000 is not a oil burner and nobody I know that has one uses oil... Got to love the internet.

its probably like CCT failures on all superhawks!
I would still bet on a honda that burns a little oil than almost anything else

Nice price. Buell 1125Rs are even less.

I fail to see the down side here. you get the bike you want, she gets the ninja, and scares the hell out of herself and ends up not riding it, and then you have a sport tourer too. sounds like a win win to me.

Shes very hard headed, and it would take more than a few scares for her to stop trying.

I have a hard time sleeping at night even with the GS500 she rides. a ZX-14 would send me straight to the mental ward. Both are dangerous, but going from a 500 to a 1400 is just plain insane.

Back on topic.... cheap CBR's!

Got mine for the same price here in Los Angeles back in Sept... still really blows my mind how undervalued the SuperHawk is.
