600+ bhp on two wheels are fun... Scary, but fun...

I got to see one of these bikes (the Fischer this post started as) in person at Monterey. The fit and finish was outstanding. I am very surprised at the price, I thought it would be more.

What kind of bike are you running 600 hp on? That is insane.

Because you lose reliability and 400 is plenty.

Depends a lot on how it's done... The bike I'm talking about was built 3 seasons ago, and have been ridden a little over 13000 miles to date with the turbo, with just regular maintainance like oil changes... Nothing special... And it wasn't new when it was rebuilt... And that's just over 600 to the wheel... Dunno what it's at the crank, but yeah... It's plenty, any way you view it...

what's displacement of that busa, tweety? how much boost/static compression ratio? stock block/crank/pistons/valves/heads? pump gas? intercooled (chemical or physical)? difficult to understand the veracity of OVER 600 BHP at the wheel when most busa's try hard to get over 400 RWHP add on to stock turboed...

is it still a 'busa engine if not stock?

Now I might be wrong but I think 400hp is about 200hp over the plenty line.

There is no "plenty line".

Well... I haven't got all the numbers, since my dear brother refuses to tell me, even after I tickled him... But the displacement has gone up a wee bit, the compression has gone down... and there are very few parts made by Suzuki left... Runs on pump gas... Laminova IC... Boost compensated clutch basket... Taken a few pointers from MCXpress and Anderssons Turbo...

I'll try getting a more accurate spec sheet out of him this afternoon... Doubt he'll tell me everything, but I'll try... He gladly let's me ride the beast though, so I'm not complaining...

I almost want to turbo my SM610, just because it'd be funny.

It feels like we've gone full circle on this thread in some ways.

Tweety, is your brother that famous rider on Youtube? Ghost Rider?

Nope... But I know who that guy is, have met him more than once... (Ie the one making the movies, AFAIK there are atleast two others I know of that has worn the suit in some scenes)... And I can say that one of my cousins did consistently beat him on track in just about any race/class/track they both competed in... Doesn't mean he isn't a decent rider though, but a bit irresponsible if you ask me... And more loose screws than me by far...

Also AFAIK that particular bike that was used in the movies was the testbed for most of the purchased parts that are in my brothers busa and a couple of others... And it's still around, doing around 500-550 at the wheel, rebuilt once though... So that's fairly reliable as well...

A few loose screws is right. Didn't they catch one of the "ghost rider's"?

Nope, not caught, not dead, not any of the other rumours that keep surfacing every now and then... He did bang himself up pretty good on the Nürburgring though... And totaled a bike... But back on a bike as soon as the bruises healed...

The thing is, I can name at least ten guys in uniform that damned well know who Ghostrider is, and that's only the guys I can name... But knowing and proving are two different things, and since the cops around here won't (aren't allowed to) chase a bike unless they have multiple strong reasons, they are unlikely to catch him in the act... Especially since he's likely to endanger others while running, and they know he will run...

Some of the scenes in the movies are staged, some are infact very real... The marked Volvo blocking the way was definetly not staged, neither was the numnuts that tried to grab him of the bike at a speedtrap... That officer got desk duty for a while according to rumour amongst a few friends in uniform...
