Re: Yoshimura vs. Two Brothers
The Zyclone is considerably quieter and very mellow. With my MIG's with race baffles earplugs are mandatory, with the Yosh Zyclones (two tube baffles?) earplugs are optional. For civilized street use I highly recommend the Zyclone baffles, although they are not available in high mounts.

The 2Bro's are loud compared to the Yosh pipes.
The Yosh's are fairly mellow under normal conditions but still loud enough at full throttle.
Build quality of the Yosh is also MUCH higher than the 2Bros.

Re: Yoshimura vs. Two Brothers
Anybody have a recommendation for pipes that work fine with the stock jetting, aren't obnoxious, and (as a bonus) don't need repacking?
I hear that both Staintune and Scorpion have slip-ons that fit the bill. The Staintunes are outrageously expensive. Anyone have anything to say about the Scorpion system?
I see that the Admin here has the Jardine high-mounts which appear to retain the passenger footpegs. How are those?

Re: Yoshimura vs. Two Brothers
I have Yosh RS-3 Titanium pipes on my TL, and it sounds ok. I have TBR pipes on my SH, and it is SICK. I am looking to buy the midpipes and hangers to get them high mounted, but I wont give up that sound for anything, makes me want a TBR set for my other twin.

Re: Yoshimura vs. Two Brothers
I have Micron slip ons and my buddy has Two Bro's on his SV 650. The build quality is better with the Micron's but his 2 Bro's sound AMAZING. Its a nice deep wump wump sound, whereas mine has kind of a whirring with a whistle (and yes, the packing is fine).
So ya, I'm jealous that his little bike sounds beefier than my litre.

Although the poll is of little use now since I'm sure you've all ready purchased a set of pipes, I thought I'd mention this to future buyers.
The yoshi's (hack, p-tooey) are for Suzukis damnit! Seriously, the zyclones are quieter than most. I tried one on a cbr f2 when the first came out. The extra packing didn't last very long and they wouldn't sell me a repack kit, had to send it back to them! What about us, who have sold the original pipe, huh?
2bros does sell the kits IIRC. I need to check as my C4 Ti highmounts definitely need them.

Re: Yoshimura vs. Two Brothers
I have the Yosh Stainless. Had loud system on last bike and there were times I wish I could turn the volume down. Got popped at the Dragon because the cop heard me commin and was ready for the kill. The Yosh cans have a nice tone. I always ride with ear plugs and you can still here the music. Other people can too. If you want loud these are not the the cans for you. Fit and finish are top shelf. I did not rejet and probably won't. It just runs too sweet. One thing about ear plugs. Make sure that they don't stick out of your ears so far as to touch the helmet in any way. If they touch they will actually transmit helmet noise to your ears.

I wish the Carbon Cans sold in the UK were available here in the U.S.
Their DB Killers are a groovy idea in my opinion

Re: Yoshimura vs. Two Brothers
I have two bros on my bike and they have a realll nice sound to them, they are a bit loud for some neighborhoods, and I havn't been pulled over yet for them.. and hopefully wont be for a while.. :-D
but I prefer two bros. I dont like the sound of the yosh's... my friend had them on his gixxer and it just didn't sound very good to me..

Re: Yoshimura vs. Two Brothers
I can offer personal opinions from personal use of Yosh. RS3 stainless, and TBR C2 AL on the Superhawk.
Sound: No comparison, the TBR's kill the Yoshi's with the intoxicating sound of raw power! The RS3's were not as deep in tone, had a whirring sound, but were much quiter. I never worried about noise with the Yoshi's. The TBR's are too loud at idle, but smooth out a little around 4000. Over 5500rpm and you get loud again.
Quality: Toss up... I had a Yoshi full system, and now have a TBR full system. Both are good quality. I much preferred TBR's header arrangement over the now unavailable Yoshimura design.
Appearence: Toss up... Both systems were high quality stainless steel headers, and polished cans. The Yoshis were low mount stainless cans, the TBR's are high mount aluminum cans.
Weight: Damn those stainless Yoshi's were heavy!!! The TBR system is MUCH lighter. It's probably due mostly to the AL cans.
Although I find the TBR's to be a little too loud for me (I think I care too much about the non riders I pass!!), I much prefere thier sound, weight, and appearence (due to high mount). I'm very pleased with my change, and I would do it again!

I have the devil stainless high mounts and love them. I've also heard a shawk with the TBR's and I think the Devil's sound more like a race bike. At higher RPM's they scream. And at lower RPM's they have a deep rumble I set off car alarms all the time. The TBR's sound a little more muted sort of a softer pop then the devil's.

Re: Yoshimura vs. Two Brothers
This may be an old post.....but...I started with D&D slip ons...LOUD all the time.
Went to a Two Brothers full system. Instalation was a dream. Done in an afternoon. Yes a bit loud....no more than a HD.... Finish and build on the C4's....excellent.
Yosh....as said before.....I don't own a Suzuki.
