I personally love the look of the EBC's and Galfers. I would assume they are lighter so you will get less gyroscopic effect from them which should result in slightly quicker and lighter steering. In regards to the EBC's, I seem to recall while reading a thread on the UK VTR site (www.vtr1000.org) that one chap said they do not like humidity for they tended to stick (virtually seize) to metallic pads if stored for even short lengths of time. I would encourage you to do a search on that site before forking out any money.

Let us know how you make out

cheers

I purchased a pair of the Pro-Lites a few years ago and have no complaints about them. I upgraded my pads at the same time and noticed much smoother braking. I have been happy with the Mod.

at some point I need to do this. I'm pretty sure my left front is what's causing some clicking cause it has a little bit of room to move with the floating rotor

EngineNo09:
i had the same problem. although i think it was my right. it took me about two weeks to figure out what it was, i even replace my head stearing bearings like an idiot.. then one day i knelt down and grabbed the rotor and it moved separate from the carrier! damnit... so i bought my EBC rotors and of course was very pleased with them... but when i got into stoppies all the time, i put the stock ones back on, and the clicking never went away, but never got noticably worse. (until one day it will probably just fall apart entirely and something really bad will happen...)

AZZKIKER...whats ur reason for buying new rotors...are your stock ones shot? or just for looks?

because personally after upgrading to EBC HH pads and braided lines all around my Superhawk stops better than any bike i have owned!

just wondering

My stock ones were shot. They were both warped. I bought a used one off ebay that I never used and ended up buying brand new pro lites. They look great and they perform excellent. I am running them with gixxer calipers and the breaking feel and power is amazing.

SillyHawk,

You should try swapping the stock master cylinder with one from a 929/954/RC51. THEN you'll be impressed.

I just recently replaced both rotors on my VTR with some OEM ebay specials I've had laying on the shelf for a few years. Guess after too many track days they warped a bit. Braking is as smooth as ever again.

Talking Ebc

I am running EBC rotors right now and like them I also have braided lines and Galfer pads with the gixxer 6 piston calipers. Just one a Gixxer master off of ebay as I did not like the feel of the stock one. But do not have it yet will go with Dot 5 fluid when I change it out. It stops way better for track days but is a little grabby untill it warms up. But still I would not go back to stock. Also changed the spings up front. Track days rock now lots of fun.

Watch the DOT5. If you're seals are not made for it they will swell and cause the master cylinder/caliper pistons to not return as they should. Don't really think there's much advantage of the stuff over a good DOT4.
