Wanna make the hawk faster

High compression pistons, ported heads, valve job, stage 1 cams, full exhaust system. A few grand for all that.
Or, 15 tooth countershaft sprocket and 43 tooth rear sprocket. Less than a hundred bucks and call it a day.

Taking it step by step:
1) gearing; as stated above this is the best bang for the buck
2) pipe/jet kit
2a) drop weight where ever you can (pipes are a big reduction)
3) internal engine work

I would reccomend a going track schools (plural. Lots of track time, lots of instruction). I would bet $$$ to donuts that the bike is faster than you are. Spending $$$ on the bike makes the bike faster in a straight line, but more than likely...you're the weak point everywhere else.

making it go faster
RPV-Hawk hit the nail on the head.
My answer to the ever popular customer's question: " How do I make my bike go faster ?" always was:
" Put a faster rider on it ".
It never was a popular answer but it made them think.
I'd also like to add that before you make it faster, make it handle and stop better.

I have not personally taken a class but I have learned a lot of tips and tricks of the trade. I ride with 1300 and one 1000 all gsx-r's. I have beated plenty of 1000's and a couple 1300's in the 1/4 so I think I can ride.but I might just look into it . but if anyone knows the best way to change your gearing for wheelies let me know. Thanks !

Someone tell me...why am I getting a mental picture of shorts and flip-flops, no shirt, and a race replica full face helmet hanging off the side of the bike??

And if you're asking how to do wheelies over a f&#$ing internet forum should you really be attempting them?

Don't Get Carried Away !
Just to let u jack asses know just because u have a gsx-r 1300 or a 1000 dosen't mean u know how to ride it. where I am located they have a lot of people who just don't know how to ride, shift, speed shift, or use rear brake control . so before u go to cracking jokes and mouthing off just b/c i just started wheelies doesn't mean I don't know how to ride. And just maybe some of u immature boys could take a few tips from me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
P.S. Doubt it... ADMIN

reminds me of the time I beat a suzuki 1300..... So this *** *** pulls up in a metro (suzuki engine, 1300cc) and wants to race.....
I cant beat the new 600rr, hell, I can't even come close to beating the 05. I KNOW how to shift, they are just faster.

Well, hopefully you'll come to the 2008 SHOG Rally at Deal's Gap. I could use some riding lessons.
