Despite my initial apprehension to do so, I broke down and installed the stacks in my VTR yesterday. My initial reason for holding off was for fear of being way off on the jetting but I figured I'd try them and try to adjust the Flo-Commander to get close with the jetting. Well, a bit of dicking around later (I had to cut a slot in both retaining rings to make room for the Flo-Commander tubing) and two turns of the F-C screw (to lean thigns out), I headed off for a 500 km ride today (had to go to Quebec city for work so I rode the bike). First impression: WOW! The bike definitely responds better and pulls with more authority. Whoile the seat of the pants is an imprecise dyno, the bike definitely feels snappier. TO those who took part, I think you'll be very happy. I know I am!!!!!!! Now if ythat damn Akrapovic system can only show up......
I'm contemplating getting one and I somehow imagine having it on the outside would be a good idea to be able to adjust it easily...

It`s mounted inside the box but the adjustment screw is accessible from the left side through a hole in the side of the box. Have a look at the F-C site (http://www.flo-commander.com/), go to the Filter Diffuser page (in left side menu, and it looks quite similar once installed in the RS250 pic featured in the uper left (except that the tubign runs outside of the stacks)).
BTW, you can get a remote adjuster to make adjustments on the fly if you wish too

If I get home before the "other boss" I can sneak out and rip the bike apart and start the install... Usually at that point she will cede the battle and let me be in peace, if she on the other hand get her orders in before teardown, I'm screwed...

Tweety, I'm running mine set w/o changing the jetting for now and it's doing fine...my jetting is for a full Erion Race system though which prolly helps...
Also, running a K&N with air damn added off a stock filter which works like a charm

Why yes... I'm poor that's why it only has A/F and a very crude dynamomenter logging to an old laptop, no calibration and all the other stuff...
But then again, I built the thing... Atleast it's usefull for setting stuff up...
And it's built to handle a ~1000 bhp V8... Soo...

Hey Chris,
I usually leave it alone once I have a setting (although I typically richen it up by 1/4 turn or so on cooler days, like Fall and Spring). That being said, I spend so much time playing around trying new things (airbox mods, filter mods, pipes,...) that I seldom go too long without getting the screwdriver out, lol
I am looking forward to getting my Akra and everything else done as then, once properly dyno tuned, I will no longer have a valid reason to play around (will be no room for improvement anyhow as I will have gone as far as I want to go) and will stick to fine-tuning for temperature.

I am really starting to not like you. Every time I read your posts it cost me more money. I guess I need to to order a Flo Commander next. It will defiantly be worth it when it comes to getting this dialed in.

I can get stupid idea's all on my own... Don't need any help thank you..
(None the less, keep the idea's coming... So far they might have been expensive, but not really bad...)

Shakes fist in mikstr's general direction and wanders of muttering...
Damn you...
Oh... My CBR wheels are already about 2.5 Kg's lighter in the rear and 1.5 Kg in the front than stock, so I know the difference it makes... And my wallet is happy with the weight right now thank you...
