Time for Stage I

You should get better than 116. I got 111 out of mine (with 70 lb-ft) and it didn`t have OS valves, hi-comp pistons, and had over 50,000 miles on it when it was dynoed. I also had stock headers and Micron slip-ons (whereas you`ll be running a full system). I would venture that you`ll be very close (if not slightly over) 120 hp. You may want to invest in a larger oil cooler and some Engine Ice for coolant as the new mill will definitely crank out more BTU`s than the old.

I picked up a cooler from an EX400 ATV (same as the RC51 unit, has about twice the area; the only fly in the ointment is that I had to have a rad shop cut and rotate one of the inlets 45 degrees to have them both straight). There are likely better options to use.

Would the RC51 oil cooler have to be modified too?
#187
Far as I know yes, since one of the inlets is angled at 45 degrees (believe it`s the right one when looking from the back of the bike), making hooking up the line a real nightmare (don't ask me how I know!). I got a rad shop to fix mine but it cost me more than the cooler did. You can scour eBay and have a look before buying as the two inlets have to be in line with the cooler.

After 4 months in the secondary fermentor I figured it would be fitting to dry hop my double IPA (named "A Whole Lotta Rosy") tonight on St. Patty's Day!
Happy St. Patty's Day to all!
Added 3 oz of pelletized hops and she started bubbling again through the air lock...was 7% OH when I checked the specific gravity 4 months ago, so I'd say she's headed on up

4 months ago, you might have a bit of oxidation going on. What are is your dry hop and what IBU are you shooting for? I myself have been brewing for 15 years, all grain now.
Good to see another homebrewer is on the forum.

100 IBUs added Cascade & Crystle, I'm thinking it's cuz I stired up the yeast on the bottom cuz no bacteria can live in 8% OH can they?

Long Velocity Stacks
Installed long billet velocity stacks and K&N air filter and I can really tell the difference! 9K rpm comes on so fast it's like I never even knew it was there before

Tried the airbox mod that removes the cross member inside the top (2 screws), but it didn't work with the K&N and long stacks. Not sure why, but guessing there was just too much turbulence...I cut the fin off the old filter and reinstalled it in the cross member on top of the K&N and she rips! Shouldda done this ages ago

It takes a week for parts to come in and believe it or not Honda WILL send you the wrong bearings in a bag with the correct number so BEWARE! Micrometers will help there...
I hope to be able to finish the heads assembly next week with porting/flowed, new 3 angle seats and OS valves
It will be a while before I have every thing I need to start on the bottom end, but stay tuned cuz it's gonna be a beast

Rear wheel spins easier and front wheel wants to come up when grabbing 3rd

I had a discussion with another poster 8541Hawk. We were wondering why the HRC jetting kits had differential suggestions for the front vs. the rear cylinder for a stock bike vs. the race biek with altered velocity stacks. His perception was the different flow front to rear based on stack length, and an attempt to compensate by slowing down the front slide at lower rpms. He had a lot of background in tuning and building these bikes and conversations with others using HRC parts. The main point being of course that jetting and carb configuration may have to be individualized when altering the stock stack configuration.

block needs honed/bored
Got some bad news today about my block. Apparently it has a blemish in one of the cylinders that needs to be honed away. The problem with honing/boring is the cylinders will require larger slugs, which may not be a bad thing
I'm looking at 3 options right now:
1- bore oversize 0.25mm & buy custom pistons and use OEM 0.25 os rings
2- bore os 0.50mm & buy custom pistons and use OEM 0.5 os rings
3- bore os 2.0mm to 100mm just like the RC51 & buy custom slugs and custom rings
I like the 3rd option, but please let me know whattcha think?
Thanks,
RC
