Sylvania Silverstar Bulb

Anyone have the part number for the one that fit's the Hawk????

"Brain Dead" at my local Auto Zone told me "they don't have one for my application" ... go to the Honda Dealer.

Apparently my low beam mysteriously went out on the stock bulb (high beam works great). Thought it may be a good time to upgrade till "YOYO" had to get me all irritated on this fine Sunday morning!!!!!

Any help would be much appreciated.

Cheers

No I don't have the number but you only need an H4 bulb. AutoZone carried them singularly while wallyworld only had twin packs. Caution: although they are much better than stock, they don't have a long life (burning the candle at both ends analogy comes to mind). So, it might be better to get the twin pack as a spare.

Sorry, can't give you a hard number on that. I think they have an hours rating/comparison on the back of the package.

I run a 55/100 watt (not a silverstar) so I'm still legal most of the time yet can still burn retinas when I want to! LOL.

I had the same type of bulb in my headlight. I got one that fit the Honda civics.Sorry don't have the part #, its been awhile And I streetfightered my hawk so I don't have the bulb anymore. Cause if you go to autozone and say motorcycle the idiot bulbs start flashing.

It doesn't take much at all to get the idiot bulbs flashing... I must say there are some that know their stuff but most barely know what a motorcycle is...

And why should they? I'm not defending inept auto parts people 'cause I've had experience with plenty of them, but sales for motorcycle specific applications probably represent a fraction of 1% of their sales. That's why we motorcycle guys have to know our stuff.

Thanks all...got it in today. The guy at Autozone said "your gonna use that for a motorcycle"? I flipped the package over and showed him where it reads in BOLD letters "for motorcycle & off road use".

The room got just a lil brighter when the lightbulb clicked on.

Thanks again to those who responded.

Cheers

(Hint) That's what this thread is about.

The blueish lights are $$$ HID systems (A+) or cheap wanna-be blue painted regular bulbs (F-).

I'm running silverstar now but know it won't last as long... my large amount of wheelies probably doesn't help.

uh... not sure about the marker light... I've contemplated at times sticking a radar detector there in that location. heh

Wagner BP1210-H4 80/100. Should be about $10-$12 at your local Napa. Bright as hell. Mine lasted about 17k miles, no issues with the wiring. I've got a 55/60 in now because I was on the other side of town from Napa at dusk when it went. Haven't had a chance to swing by and replace it yet, but I plan on it.
