Steel braided brake line recommendations?

I bought a set of VFR750 clip on's and my front brake line is now too short, need a couple more inches.

Can anyone recommend a manufacturer?

(Call me nuts but I always thought that the brakes are great the way they are for street riding. No doubt I'll like the steel lines better after I try them though )

Did you by chance route the lines differently? The VFR bars are only about 3/4 of inch higher so I'm trying to figure out why you need that much more length.

Gafler Goodridge and Russell are the major names. I'd stick with a well-known brand.

No. The brake just doesn't quite reach by about 3/4's of an inch. Honda didn't leave any slack at all. No biggy, I was gonna do the SS lines one day anyway.

The bars rock. The difference they make is huge as you know. I couldn't be happier.

I have helibar raisers on my bike, and the Galfer lines I bought easily reached; make sure you test it with the forks fully extended.

I also have EBC HH brake pads on the front, and the whole thing works very well now.

ah, thats good news about the Galfer's. Thanks for the tip about the fork extention. Would definitely suck to find out the hard way they were too short if you know what I mean.

I have Goodridge SS front, rear, and clutch lines. Excellent quality and there's at least 3/4" of slack so they should fit your VFR bars. I've seen them on Ebay alot recently for good prices.

I've also heard that Spiegler will make custom-lengths for you if you call 'em...in case you need to go that route.

I am seriously thinking about this as a first mod on my stockhawk. What is the best bang for the buck? Best lines for the cheapest amount and how much will they be?

Re: Steel braided brake line recommendations?

I priced most either online or locally. I did not find that you would be lucky on the hawk in saving much more that 10 maybe 20 bucks. Those were when u ordered them. Problem is, if u have a problem u gotta send one back, but u gotta undo both brakes and put the stock back if u wanna ride it. $100.00 to 130.00 you should be able to get what u need. Spiegler I know has custom lenth lines. Your gonna need a 32 or 33 in for left and a 29 - 30 in for right

An important point to remember with Spiegler is that they have adjustable banjo fittings. You can turn them around a bit to prevent twisting of the lines.

I fitted them to my Suzuki, and this was very handy to get them to fit perfectly.
