loks good, does that swing arm increse the wheel base? it looks really long, but it could be cause the sub-frame is off. did you have to fab brackets for the lower/upper shock mount?

anyway keep posting pictures.

Yes I had to make the plates. I will measure the distance between the axels and see how much difference there is.

Honda VFR 800

and you need to make this shock linkage plate, move the shock along with re-routing the exhaust

Hi Eric
block the middle banjo bolt hole off and use the other, i fed my brake hose through the swingarm where the master cylinder is and out the hole underneath the swingarm it gives a much cleaner look.

this was a tip from Daz Sear another sss convert. heres what you should end up with this is a pic of Daz,s

Thanks Alan. One more question for now.Which suzuki clip ons work for this swap .do I need to have some custom spacers made. the top tripple clamps have that weird bend to them so that I can mount some superbike bars. thanks again for all the info.

Hi Eric
not sure about Suzy clipons i used Spondon clipons with about 2.5 to 3 inch rise to clear the fairings,or theres always Heli bars but i dont like them myself.

You say superbike bars do mean something like Renthal bars???? with risers.

I recommend a rubber grommet in that hole to prevent wear from vibration.

Other than making the shock base plate and making ur own header, anything else have to be done to bolt on the VFR swing arm?

And also, how much would 50mm more on the wheel base affect the handling? Or would a mortal like me even notice? Also, one more thing. What about the weight difference from stock rear to the VFR unit with wheel?

Westcoast you have to drill a new mounting hole for the shock in the frame, use a vtr swingarm bush on the left side and a vfr bush on the right or vice versa cant exactly remember now but this is vital you do it right because this determines where you drill the frame for the shock and for both wheels to be inline ( well i say inline but you will still need a spacer to line the rear sprocket to the front sprocket) i used a standard sprocket cut the teeth off machined down to about 5mm and use this as the spacer behind your front sprocket.

As for the 50mm i dont notice the difference cos hey i'm not Rossi lol but since my front end swap and swingarm swap my vtr is transformed it handles fantastic.

Weight wise the vfr swinger with hub/carrier does weigh some compared to standard but again will you or i notice???? i dont think so.

has anyone used the spiegler upper tripple clamp conversion. I am thinking of buying it. it comes with bars and lines if I read it right. I got hte front end all together but can't remember if I used the 929 upper or 954 upper. which one should I purchase. is there a difference. I put it together with the 1000 front end but just can't remember which one.
