seat fix
Hey yall,
The only real compaint I have had with my sh was the seat. After too many miles of squirming around and standing on the pegs I decided enough was enough. I bought a gel pad bicycle seat cover at walmart for about 8 bucks. I took the staples out of the front part of the seat, set the gel pad on the foam, outlined it with a black marker and used a new razor knife to cut out the foam. The foam in this area is about 3 to 4 inches thick so I made the surrounding area blend in with the gel pad with a combo of slicing and pinching out pieces of the foam to give an egg crate effect. The front 2 to 3 inches of the gel pad caused me some discomfort so I cut off about 3 inches of the front. I am sure there are different ways to do this. I am VERY pleased with the results. I have spent many hours in the saddle with absolutely no discomfort.

Re: seat fix
As Yogi Berra says, "this is deja vu all over again".
I tried this exact same thing with a previous vfr and I didn't like it. I'm to acclimated to the firmness of corbins and sargent seats. Later on, I even tried an official suzuki accessory gel seat for my bandit and didn't like it either. Different strokes.......

I must admit though... I never go lond distance touring on my bike. (only local twisties and commute to work.)
