RC51 coils

I got my eye on some rc51 coils and since I'm already in the Shawk doin a bit of work, Does anyone know if they are compatible with the superhawk and if they may be any better?

If the primary resistance (ohm's between two input wires) is within .1ohm of the hawk's they should be fine to use. I think the hawk's are around .7ohm. Don't know if they put out more though.

I wouldn't see why they would be any "better" but two things I'd check are: the sparkplug connector length and the wiring harness connectors on the coil end may be different since the 51 is fuel-infected (just a guess).

Yeah, I don't think the RC51 coil would be much better. The only reason I can think they would be is because the RC51 has more compression requiring more juice to create a spark under compression.

On my 1980 KZ1300 the stock coils really sucked so I installed some late model GM coils with .7ohm resistance and a 1.8ohm ballast resistor for a 2.5ohm total primary resistance. They work great even if I gap the plugs to .045". I wouldn't get your heart set on the RC51 units but keep an open mind to higher output coils.
