new wheels/swingarm

Very nice!
The only light wheels I have ridden were on my RC51, but it is such a completely different bike, that it's hard to tell how much of it was wheels. I just recall very light, intuitive steering. Hadn't really gotten going with it yet, though.
The bike is looking good. I hadn't seen pictures of a full Ti Mori exhaust in a while. I love the blue color that they turn.
Weren't those my rearsets way back when?
Yup. those are VTR brake calipers. I recommend swapping to the RC51 calipers.

Now get your *** in gear and go sign up for the VTROM... Last chanche...
BTW did you remove the bellypan permanently, or is it just left of during that picture?

just entered it, Tweety. I removed the bellypan for the work on the rear end of the bike.
And I have to say I thought I liked the bellypan - but now that its off, I think I actually prefer it without it - so I'm leaving it off!

Oh don't worry... I have a few parts lying around that needs to go into my spare engine...
And there needs to be added a few braces to the frame... And... Well, if you figure out where this is going, lemme know... Cuz I haven't the faintest...

made me wonder. here is how it looks with and without pan.
I don't think the angles work with the swingarm very well - and would likely need trimming though its not as close as it looks in the pics.
let me know what you think

I think you guys are right and believe me, finding that mori lower was not easy. But with it off I am surprised that I actually prefer it too - and for sure with the lower braced swingarm. go figure.

Looks good Bill. Good to see you got those wheels sorted. Easier than I did!
You and I have the same headers. I have not seen another set the same (although there must be lots about the world). I chose to ceramic coat mine though. They sure are light compared to stainless pipes.

thanks guys. mikstr they are the stock RC51 calipers, not SH. I was unsure on top or bottom bracing - its trivial but I figured the lower the weight the better and it was what JMC also suggested as having the least fit issues so.........
VTS - those look almost the same width as mine (mine are 30") and I figure I can trim at least an inch from each side - which should be close to what I want. Narrower is better. Do you know just straight across from end to end what they measure?

Again your bike looks great, not much I would change. Don't go sell'n it. I don't know what you would replace it with?

couldn't sell it now VTS. to much blood sweat tears into it.
Shayne that is such a great looking bike you built - and attention to every detail!! I agree, the pipe is amazing - I think the entire system including both cans was around 9 pounds or something close.

I love the brakes. I just finally put my cbr calipers on the same brackets tonight. Did you also get those brackets from Glenn? What did you use for brake lines? I have convertibar clip ons so mine are lower of course, but I'm still curious. With the radial calipers one of my lines is a little too short.

Yeah he really is. He always has (had?) the best RC51 stuff for sale on ebay. I think he told me he's selling that business off. I couldn't help myself awhile back and bought a ti sato kickstand (sorry I had to have it ) from him. He told me if I didn't like it or it didn't work to send it back and he'd refund me, no worries. Really cool guy.
So yeah I'm gonna have to bite the bullet and just order some new lines...I hate paying retail for anything but I'm probably going to have to here. I have a brembo radial mc and am just using the two separate lines. I used what I believe are the stock clips that bolt to the lower triple and it helps route the lines nice and clean. I measure and re-measured several times so I hope I get the length right. Plus I can sell my stock length galfers and make up some of the difference. I'm on more on a budget than I used to be lol.
