new tires

So Ive finally upgraded the rubber due to financial complications .

I went with the metzler sportech m1's these tires ROCK!

also just put new pilot powers on my wifes sv, and I dont know but the m1s are super sticky. I was having some issues with my front chattering mid-corner and thought it was suspension issues, come to find out it was some touring tire on the the front d404 I think, now Im not even concerned mid-corner (though not opposed to suspension upgrades). all in all, very happy with both sets as I have yet to log miles on either. weather permitting .

will update soon

Good to hear. I've a friend who really wants them..I am so happy with the Q's and PP's I won't switch to anything for a while.

How is the warm-up? I know the M3's were said by some to be instantly warm..

I had them put on the rims off the bike , after returning the wheels to the bike Id say 20 miles they were ready for full lean if thats what you mean. all I can say is that after 50 miles I have alot of confidence in them. tomarrow Im putting about 150 miles on them so I will post then.

My M-1's warm up with a couple quick swipes down either side. And when they do slide from cooling down, like after a fast straight, they always start sticking before you even have time to react to them sliding. I really like me some Sportecs.

+1 on the m-1s , I love mine ! I am about to need another rear but they are getting kind of hard to find since I think they have stopped making them . Where did you get yours ? I am hoping to find a close out price on a rear . I have a brand new pilot race( disposable tire) sitting in the garage as a back up . But I would rather have another M-1 .

I think the M3 replaced the M1's...thus making them discontinued.

supertwinSH is an unknown quantity at this point
I have the M-1's and love them also...just a few miles and they are ready to rock. I did notice that next to my Brother-in-laws 98 Hawk fitted with 208's...that the M-1 is a bit thinner in look and a bit taller too. All I know is it falls in corners. My brother-in-law rode it and came back and said "WOW! this thing handle so different than mine."

Yeah, these tires are the reason why I don't have experience with any other aftermarket tire. We'll see how many miles I get out of them on the hawk, and then see if I feel like experimenting with something else.

I have gotten about 3000 miles out of my rear ( wheelies eat up the centers !) I have probably got 1k left on it . Not bad considering how well they stick .

What do you guys think of the pilot powers? I just switched over from a set of BT014s and they sure feel different.
