New Hawk owner...help me make it look like some of the sick ones ive seen!

Hello from the great state of North Carolina everyone. This is the first Hawk for me. 2003 and I have Jardine high mounts on it. Now, ive seen the LED tail with blinkers as I want to take the stocks off. I also am looking for the lower fairing and seat cowl. Ive seen a few different looking lowers and I want the one that covers the most surface area, not the cap looking one. I am 6-1 and 190lbs...are helibars a consideration for added comfort? Im new, be easy on me, I dont know much technical about cycles or forums for that matter lol. School this young padawan oh Jedi knights thanks in advance!

Welcome to the CLub!

Exercise The search function on the forum before asking to many questions. Many of your concerns are addressed in previous posts. Usually best advice i can give before many come down on you hard.

Put in a little background work and many would love to step out and assist. We are a great community.

Welcome again to the obsession.

Welcome to the forum king. Before you start making her look pretty, I recommend changing fork springs to better suit your weight. It's the single best mod you can do to a Hawk IMO. It's relatively cheap and very easy to do.

Post up some pics of the bird.

I suggest reading up on Cam Chain Tensioners and Regulator Rectifiers before worrying about lowers and cosmetics. The comment on fork springs is also true. You might ask the previous owner what he has or hasn't done if you haven't already.

SuperHawks already look badass. Concentrate on riding it to its full potential.
I assume you have riding gear? You know, flip-flops, shorts, t-shirt and ball cap.
Post a pic when you can.

Thanks guys, ive ridden before but nothing bigger than a 450 dirtbike. I have good gear and im getting use to the feel of this machine daily. I like the way the bike handles and the torque. Not to mention the sound! I will do some data mining and find the things I had questions about. Picked her up from a G.I. with only 5000 miles @ $2500. Bank robbery if you ask me Washed it today and will have my photos up very soon. Thanks again for the welcome, advice, and leads!
