And another one bites the dust...

You like all the other newbies, especially you 'mericans, need to learn the intricacies of VTR 1000F vs VTR 1000 SP1 & SP2... In the states, there is the VTR 1000F, known as the Superhawk, and then there is the RC-51... In the rest of the world, the RC-51 is known by VTR 1000 and it's generation, SP1 and SP2...

So if you see an eBay ad with either SP1, or SP2 in it, chances are it's not going to fit your bike... Doesn't matter if it says VTR before it, it's still for what you call the RC-51, and it simply won't fit...

If you want to look at the correct one, make sure you put the correct wording, here is an example:

For GPR exhausts, go here: Trenditaly Motorpassion Motorcycle Spare Parts Accessori Moto

I had wanted them before I bought used arrows, seems to have very nice sound - on youtube.

EVERYONE should be calling the RC-51 an RC-51.

"We" would use the name RVT1000R if we wanted to use something uniquely American...

VTR1000 is unique to Europe and Australia.

I wouldn't try the double dual exhaust's that I was linking to... that was kind of a joke (unless you want practically straight pipes for some reason)

That was extreme you may as well just have a straight pipe with nothing, will cost cheaper

Can you make a close up picture so we can take a look how bad this is?

Actually, no... Just because it's says so on a wikipedia page, it's not neccessary true... That was most likely written by another American, who wasn't too interested in finding out the facts for "the rest of the world"...

Everyone should use the VTR 1000SP1 or VTR 1000SP2, since that was the name originally given by Honda... And it is the name applied in the EU market, the Australian market (including New Zeeland and others) and in the Asian Market, and the South American market... Since I'm not aware that the bike was introduced to any other markets, that makes 4 of 5 market areas, and even though most Americans choose to ignore it, a significantly larger market in terms of buyers, than the US... (Cars are another thing than bikes though...)

It was actually someone in marketing at Honda US, that figured he knew better, that created the RC-51 name... So it is entirely unique to the US and Canada... Go read up on that history is you want to know the whole story... And the "name" is only the name on the fairing really, and if you look at a non US bike, you will find the fairing with the SP1/SP2 on them instead...

And normally, the RC designation would only be used on a race spec bike, which if you follow the way Honda usually would designate things, so it should probably be limited to the race spec/kit SP1's that Honda sold for racetrack use only...

Now, I could be impolite, and tell you that you have a narrow US based perspective, since you obviously exhibit the telltale signs, going by the belief that, "I know it as an RC-51, so that's obviously right, and everyone else should change..." But I'm not going to... I'll just state the facts... The RC-51 name is a US and Canada only thing... And should remain so...

This is not a show stopper, you can probably ride this as is and never notice the difference between this pipe or another OEM one there is already some kind of obstruction at the connecting point of both pipes that probably not less obstructing then this dent and most people don't even know about it, I saw some threads or posts about it somewhere.
But if you into peak performance, you need to change this pipe, though going that route I would recommend getting a full system instead, this OEM pipes have their own limitations due to the pipe size.
