lower footpegs, another approach

Superbling documented a mod to lower the SH footpegs a bit. His mod involves using the exhaust hanger castings. Since one of mine has been broken and rewelded, and the weld was kind of porus, I didn't want to go that route.

Here's another approach from a VFR forum. It involves, of all things, Buell pegs.

I've done the "Buell" method on both my 2002 and 2000 VFR. Since I'm in the market for a project Hawk, I wonder if the same thing will work? I think it works great on the VFR...

This mod works great on my Bandit and had been looking for a set of pegs off of eBay to set up my SHawk. Didnt know they were going to run $34 a pair, might as well order them new!

They work and they work well...

I just swiped the Buell pegs off my, of all things, newly acquired '99 VFR. The previous owner had them on there and gave me the stock pegs as well. I figured the Buell pegs would be better suited on the Hawk cause of the higher pegs. Took all of 10 minutes to change them over.
