Let's talk about the shock again.

I get some holidays now here in China, because of the May 1st, the "labor day".

So I got out and took a ride a few days ago, and found it was nightmare when the rode became bumpy. I had ridden the NT650 Hawk GT on the same road and felt ok, while on the SH, I was thrown up over every bump, and it seemed that the rear shock was like a crabstick and didn't absorb anything, and the rear end hit every bump heavily and jump over the bump then drop to the groud.

I've checked the preload and the rebound setup, and they're both in the softest position. I've checked the race tech's website, and found the recommended shock spring rate is the same as the original one. Then I started to think about the aftermarket upgrade, and they're so expensive.

I've also checked old posts about the shocks, and someone said it's the worthiest money you would spend on your bike and the upgrade will turn the bike into totally another one.

Is the comment still true when we're talking about the cheap ones (WP,Bitubo) ?
Will the upgrade solve my problem, or they are stiff too and only for more sporty riding and better road sufaces( such as tracks )?

Please give me some advice or just talk about it.

By the way, to Loca. In one post you said you've bought a Bitubo shock on eBay, how does it work, who did you buy from (I can't find one on the eBay), and how much does it cost? Does it look like this one? http://80.17.34.90:8080/bitubo_datab...otto=XZE&-Find
I don't know why I can't pm you.

Hey happy haven't seen you post in a while. First off his name is Loco..Loca would be the feminen name but I do hear he only weighs 150 so.... Anyway you would be pm'ing the wrong guy, I was the one that bought the Bitubo shock. I think it was a one time deal just someone selling a used shock. The one I have is a piggy back model that I'm not sure they even make for the Superhawk anymore. I'm very happy with it, on the soft settings it's a lot more plush than the o.e.m. and set it stiff and it's great on the track. It' machined like a piece of art as well. I really don't know the price because I couldn't find this one anywhere else, I believe it's the racing model. Here's some pics of it installed but you can't see much, I'll see If I can find the pics of it out of the bike. Some one else got a wilbers and said they were very happy as well.

Re: Let's talk about the shock again.

Here it is out of the bike. It has ride height, preload, rebound and compression damping adjustments.

I got a deal, I saw it about 10 minutes after he posted and talked him into a buy now price of $325! I was smart this time and avoided the bidding war. How's the RC? I'd love to give one of those a test on the track so I could compare my mods to the big brother.

Well its stock for now, well except for some SS lines, but compared to the stock suspension SH...its night and day. So I bet your set up would hold up awesome against an RC.

Hard to tell againts the riders in novice, I thought it was time to move up the last time before this. Now I know it's time...I think I was pissing people off this time. I was riding safe but blowing by everyone and I think I heard one of them call me an Ahole in the pits. Oh well the intermediate class was full and there was NO WAY I was riding in expert.
