Jetting

I have ordered Jardine RT1 Carbon Fiber High Mount pipes for the Hawk a few days ago. Do I need to rejet the bike to run these pipes? If so should I get the Dynojet or the Factory kit?

Thanks,
Sean

You don't "need" to, but you'll get better driveability and a little more power if you do.

I just put on my Jardine high mounts tonight. I haven't riden it yet, damn rain, but it didn't seem to rev up as smooth as stock. Now, I don't know if that's from the new pipes or if it does need jetted now. Maybe the pipes need to break in some. I do have a Dynojet kit ready, just not installed yet. Hopefully I'll be able to ride it later this week to see how it runs with just the pipes.

Thumper is an unknown quantity at this point
Yea it doesn't rev as good now because of the ear to ear grin you got on your face looking at the new bling bling you installed. The grin is getting in the way of your hearing and your brain just can't take all that excitement at one time.

Congrats on the new boom boom sound.......

I got the Jardin RT1's today. I will be installing them along with the jet kit over the weekend and next week. I will post some pics as well as how it goes.

Yeah, it's probably that. I've been riding it for a few days now with the pipes and it's awesome! Everyone does a double take when I roll up next to them, they can't believe it's a Honda that sounds like that. I can't keep myself from blipping the throttle all the time. My gas mileage is going to crap, I know it.

These engines are made to scream, they don't start they come alive !!
I blip the throttle all the time, I love to park by walls, it just sounds awesome.
I loved the way the dJ kit was, it comes with enough jets for a wide range of settings, spark plug reading and feel will tell if their base setting is the best one, can't wait.
MK don't be afraid, if you bought the kit, do it.
