Jardine vs. Staintune (Hi-Mounts)
Jardine vs. Staintune (Hi-Mounts)
I have narrowed it down to the two exhaust systems and have done the price shopping and have done the research on both.
Here is the question: Jardine or Staintune?
Jardine polished aluminum, to my door US $466.00 (EBay, brand new).
Staintune polished stainless steel to my door US $839.00 (Staintune website, free shipping).
Is the Staintune $373.00 better?
I am looking for looks, good sound (but not to loud) and overall quality.
Thank you for your help,

lookin for jardines myself . . .
IMO, i couldn't justify payin the extra 373 for an exhaust that's pretty simple in looks, all chrome. . . they're good quality tho.
do the jardines come with street cores or race cores? for 466, i'd jump on the jardines. . . my 2 cents

Re: Jardine vs. Staintune (Hi-Mounts)
Just installed the Jardine polished aluminum high mount street core units(from Starcycle-$560 delivered). Like em alot. I had the Jardine high black units but found them a lttle too loud for me and the S-bend risers seemed to crowd my heels a little more than the these new ones. The passenger footpeg adapter doesn't let the pegs clear the can though on the new ones. Will tinker with the parts more and advise .

The Jardine's are street cores, this is the link below. In addition, do the cores ever need replacing or repacking?

Re: Jardine vs. Staintune (Hi-Mounts)
Thanks guys for your help, I ordered the Jardine's and it was $502.00 to my door and it was $466.00 for the black Jardine's (my mistake). I think it's worth the extra $36 for the Polished aluminum and can't wait to install them.
Any installation tips that I need that aren’t in the instructions?

Nice deal, I just took Jardine pipes and put them on my 2 Bros cans. I turned the strap hanger upside down, swaped and bent the hangers and now they're much higher. I like the tighter look, much cleaner IMHO, check it out.

They do clear the muffler cans after doing it right...my bad.

Re: Jardine vs. Staintune (Hi-Mounts)
Ok, as you can see I bought & installed the Jardine’s. However, I got the model numbers mixed up and bought the Race Cores and thought they were the Street Cores. But it was still a good deal at $502.00 to my door and I ordered them last Fri and got them on Tue, not bad. I installed them tonight and just got back from the 2 hour test ride!!!!! I was afraid that the Race Cores would be too loud, but they were fine, not too loud at all. There is only one word to use to describe the new sound……SEXY!!!!!!!!! I am very happy with the new pipes, the look and the sound and the performance. I normally have to use the choke the start the hawk, but after the pipes it started right up and after a few little pulls on the throttle it was idling like a fuel injected bike, even thought the outside temp was about 70 degrees F (I have to use the choke even when it’s 95 degrees F) Go figure.
No flat spots like some people said, but I did notice little stumbling between 3000 ~ 6000 RPM’s but it was very slight, it almost felt like small bumps in the road. So I may invest in a Jet-Kit, I already have the K&N filter. Thanks for all of your input; it helped me in my decision.

Thanks, I am glade I got the Jardine’s and not Staintune. The polished aluminum cools down within 5 minutes enough not to burn me or my cover. The stock pipes took 15 minutes to cool down just enough to get the cover on, but were still very hot.
I might try putting a stock air filter in to see if the stumbling stops, before re-jetting. The stumbling is very, very slight and is hard to notice and only does it under extreme hard fast throttle pull. I made an purposeful, deliberate effort to bring the throttle back, by over rotating my wrist so the throttle went from normal to full in about ¼ of a second. So, I might have been a bit overzealous and might be expecting too much.

Re: Jardine vs. Staintune (Hi-Mounts)
I did remove the baffle from the air box lid and cut the lip off the front of the filter. Before I did this I had to keep the idle speed at 1500 rpm or it would do the clunk die routine. With the baffle and lip removed I can set the idle at 1200 rpm and it has never died at idle since I did this.
