Improving shifting mod questions

After installing my new rearsets last night I'm trying to find the optimal setup for the best/shortest shifting. I'm told to orient the spline arm 90 degrees to the shift linkage. But considering it's not stock anymore I'm having trouble figuring out what is optimal. Is clockwise or counter clockwise the direction to rotate the spindle arm to improve the shifting? And is 90 degrees the shortest? Or would more one way or the other shorten shifting? Although from what I understand the shorter the shifting is the more force it takes. Here is how things are nowImproving shifting mod questions-image.jpg

Your arm needs to go forward.

Sorry about pic quality, but you are about 20 degrees out.

Loading up the shaft shortens the shift.

Turn the shaft clockwise.

Thanks for the help. Now as far as the adjustment bolt holes as in the 2 on the spindle arm and and the 3 on the shift lever, where do you have yours? I'm not Exactley sure what they do or what they are for?

It's all about leverage. Rememeber that stuff that your science teacher taught you in grade school and you weren't supposed to forget it?

I actually reversed the arm so that it fitted the gearbox splined shaft better.

Hope this pick helps.

Played around with settings for a while last night and got it finally! Buttery smooth and really short shifting.Set the pegs at 1 hole forward from all the way back and one hole down from the top. Really impressed at the danmoto rearsets for the price.

Got my DM's on the other day too and i'm FINALLY liking them. It took me some trial and error though.

Anyway, shifting on my Dan Motos is MUCH improved and my linkage is set up exactly how the directions say and that is 90 degrees.

But for the money, they are pretty good so far. LOVE IT!
